For over ten years I have been photographing using large format 8x10 and 8x20 cameras making black and white contact prints.  For me, the detail and beauty of a contact print is unparalleled.  The 8x10 contact print is small, personal, and fits my vision as an artist.  I have photographed numerous subjects, but most enjoy photographing landscapes, the figures, and abstracts.

The landscapes on this website are from "Peters Valley Series".  The images were made in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  This area is unique in it's history, landscape, flora, and fauna.  The intention of the series is to share the fundamental beauties that surround one in this relatively small national park.

The figures studies are from my series "Gestures-Sacred And Secular".  I consider this series a natural extension of my landscape work.  I have attempted to show the beauty, grace, and spirituality that I feel in relating the figure with the landscape.  In exploring the placement of the figure in the landscape from near to far, I have found that with proper balance, a certain transcendence occurs.  In trying to instill a sense of purpose and fluidity for the figure in relating to the landscape, I have chosen dancers, instructing them to move slowly/meditatively.  This project has been one of self-discovery, learning to move with ideas and spontaneity.
